More headaches for Sony over batteries (AP)

Japanese electronics giant Toshiba said it will recall 340000 laptop computers worldwide due to problems with batteries made by rival Sony which is already reeling over defective products. Toshiba will replace the batteries installed in eight models of its AP - The Japanese electronics makers Toshiba and Fujitsu are recalling batteries made by Sony for their laptop computers while personal computer maker Dell expanded its earlier recall of Sony battery packs. The batteries can short-circuit and have been blamed for causing some computers to catch fire.
