Tech security innovations limited since Sept. 11

** ADVANCE FOR MONDAY SEPT. 4 **Aiden Doyle smiles as he scans the photographer's camera bag and finds a suspicious object identified by the program as a possible threat for security during a visit at the Optosecurity facilities Tuesday Aug. 22 2006 in Quebec City. The shape of a gun had accidentally appeared when two pieces of camera gear were sitting side by side. Optosecurity is using an optical recognition technology into something that would let airport X-ray machines automatically detect weapons and their components.
