Ultra-precise atomic clocks will redefine time

Researcher Jim Bergquist stands near the heart of the most accurate clock spread across three tables in his office in the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder Colo. on Friday Sept. 1 2006. The tower is where an instrument similar to a tuning fork is housed while the lasers in the background are used in making the calculations.
